Campus Scouting guide - Week 5, 2025

Our Perfect Weekend Slate

If you’re watching college football this weekend, do it with a dynasty/draft lens and use this as your remote-control blueprint. The anchors below are full-game watches for the most impactful games to watch for dynasty - I try to find the most dynasty-relevant players going up against quality defenses; the alternates are your Multiview companions.

Friday:

  • 8:00 p.m. CT – #24 TCU @ Arizona State (FOX)Hoover’s volume passing with Eric McAlister vs Leavitt’s with Tyson. We’re looking for big plays and TDs under the lights. Who takes control of the Big12?

Saturday:

  • 11:00 a.m. CT – #21 USC @ #23 Illinois (FOX)Maiava’s explosiveness on the road vs Altmyer’s timing/accuracy, along with their targets Makai Lemon (USC) and Hank Beatty (ILL). Can Illinois bounce back against another ranked opponent?

  • 2:30 p.m. CT – #4 LSU @ #13 Ole Miss (ABC)Nussmeier’s on-schedule arm vs Chambliss’ hot-hand dual threat. Can LSU look better on offense vs a tough defense, and is Chambliss the real deal at QB?

  • 6:30 p.m. CT – #6 Oregon @ #3 Penn State (NBC)This is the big one - Dante Moore & Drew Allar. Who is going to step up in a prime-time matchup? Plenty of skill players surround these QBs, so plenty of dynasty impact in this one.

  • After Dark – #25 BYU @ Colorado (ESPN)Freshman dual-threat Bear Bachmeier vs once again starter Kaidon Slater. Will Slater hang onto the starting gig, and can BYU keep its season undefeated?

Other Games This Weekend To Consider

Early:

Evening:

  • 6:30 p.m. CT - #17 Alabama @ #5 Georgia (ABC)Bama WR room, Ryan Williams & Germie Bernard, vs Georgia’s speed and Nate Frazier usage for Georgia.

Friday Night

#24 TCU @ Arizona State — 8:00 p.m. CT (FOX)

Hoover’s volume passing with emerging alpha Eric McAlister vs Leavitt’s dual-threat engine with Raleek Brown as the every-down pivot. We’re looking for who can stack explosive plays while minimizing turnovers. Jordyn Tyson is the name you need to know going into the 2026 draft - he’s in the conversation for the WR1 come next April.

TCU Horned Frogs

Josh Hoover — QB #10 — 6'2", 200 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 70/103, 1,000 yards, 11 TDs, 2 INTs | 9 carries, 30 yards
Last Game (SMU): 22/40, 379 yards, 5 TDs, 1 INT | 8 carries, 27 yards
What We’re Watching For: Turn the box‑score juice into weekly‑starter reality: take layups when shots are capped, avoid hero balls, and keep turnover‑worthy plays near zero. If he sustains drives with quick‑game accuracy and mixes in 1–2 deep hits, he could be a riser in the 2026/2027 drafts.

Jordan Dwyer — WR #7 — 6'0", 195 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 17 receptions, 257 yards, 2 TDs
Last Game (SMU): 3 receptions, 32 yards
What We’re Watching For: More looks and conversions than last week - do we get some manufactured touches that he can turn into YAC? If he re‑establishes volume after a quiet week, he will continue to be a name to watch moving forward.

Eric McAlister — WR #1 — 6'3", 205 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 13 receptions, 320 yards, 3 TDs
Last Game (SMU): 8 receptions, 254 yards, 3 TDs
What We’re Watching For: WR1 validation vs another strong opponent. Command targets, win through contact on the boundary, and avoid boom‑bust volatility. If the usage from last week continues, this could be real alpha trajectory.

Arizona State Sun Devils

Sam Leavitt — QB #10 — 6'2", 205 lbs (So)
2025 Stats: 72/118, 748 yards, 6 TDs, 3 INTs | 42 carries, 219 yards, 4 TDs
Last Game (Baylor): 22/32, 221 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT | 15 carries, 62 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: Turnover-free dual‑threat play. Hit on‑schedule throws, keep the designed run as a complement, and manage the two‑minute drills cleanly.

Raleek Brown — RB #3 — 5'9", 195 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 56 carries, 372 yards, 2 TDs | 10 receptions, 57 yards
Last Game (Baylor): 21 carries, 80 yards | 3 receptions, 23 yards
What We’re Watching For: Three‑down path. Passing‑down trust, short‑yardage work, and red‑zone preference. If he continues to add 2–3 catches to 15–20 carries each game, he’ll be a name to monitor come draft time.

Jordyn Tyson — WR #0 — 6'2", 200 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 31 receptions, 357 yards, 5 TDs (TD in every game)
Last Game (Baylor): 7 receptions, 43 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: Sustained TD streak with real volume. Look for target command, explosive plays, and redzone presence. He’s leading the conversation for 2026 WR1 - this game is less about evaluation and more about enjoying what he puts on tape.

Chamon Metayer — TE #7 — 6'4", 255 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 13 receptions, 135 yards, 1 TD
Last Game (Baylor): 6 receptions, 55 yards
What We’re Watching For: Stick/flat/red‑zone utility. If he’s a first read in the low red zone or a 3rd‑and‑short safety valve, he could be a deeper sleeper.

Saturday Early

#21 USC @ #23 Illinois — 11:00 a.m. CT (FOX)

Maiava vs a ranked road test and Altmyer’s timing/accuracy against speed. We’re looking for on-schedule throws, third-down poise, and whether top targets keep commanding volume against top defenses.

USC Trojans

Jayden Maiava — QB #14 — 6'4", 230 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 68/96, 1,223 yards, 9 TDs, 0 INT | 15 carries, 55 yards, 4 TDs
Last Game (Michigan State): 20/26, 234 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INT | 4 carries, 31 yards, 2 TDs
What We’re Watching For: How does Maiava fare on the road? Can he land deep shots, keep a clean sheet, and run to extend drives? If the pre/post-snap command and two-minute operation hold, it’s another strong dynasty signal.

Waymond Jordan — RB #2 — 5'9", 210 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 57 carries, 443 yards, 3 TDs | 4 receptions, 37 yards
Last Game (Michigan State): 18 carries, 157 yards | 2 receptions, 25 yards
What We’re Watching For: Three-down path vs committee cap. Passing-down trust and red-zone preference are the what we’re hoping for.

Makai Lemon — WR #6 — 5'11", 195 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 24 receptions, 438 yards, 3 TDs | 2 carries, 11 yards, 1 TD
Last Game (Michigan State): 8 receptions, 127 yards, 1 TD | 2 carries, 11 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: Lemon is a target earner with big-play ability. Want to see him win with pacing & YAC, not just schemed touches, against a ranked defense.

Ja’Kobi Lane — WR #8 — 6'4", 200 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 9 receptions, 239 yards, 1 TD
Last Game (Michigan State): 3 receptions, 115 yards
What We’re Watching For: Lane is a field-stretcher, but can he be more than a vertical threat? Looking for more targets and an expanded route tree.

Illinois Fighting Illini

Luke Altmyer — QB #9 — 6'2", 205 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 70/100, 855 yards, 9 TD, 0 INT | 1 rush TD
Last Game (#19 Indiana): 14/22, 146 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
What We’re Watching For: Can he and the offense rebound vs another top-25 opponent? No INTs on the season is nice to see, but we need to see him put up some big numbers against a quality opponent.

Kaden Feagin — RB #3 — 6'3", 250 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 55 carries, 240 yards, 3 TD | 2 receptions, 13 yards
Last Game (#19 Indiana): 5 carries, 18 yards
What We’re Watching For: Can he put last week behind him and have a productive day against USC? We know he can be a weapon on the ground, but we would like to see him get more involved in the passing game.

Hank Beatty — WR #80 — 5'11", 185 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 21 receptions, 302 yards, 1 TD | 1 carry, 25 yards, 1 TD
Last Game (#19 Indiana): 2 receptions, 13 yards
What We’re Watching For: I may be a broken record, but let’s see if Beatty can rebound after a lackluster performance last week. He’s their best weapon in the passing attack, so can he look like it?

Saturday Afternoon

#4 LSU @ #13 Ole Miss — 2:30 p.m. CT (ABC)

This one is all about the QBs - can Nussmeier layer throws and keep the sheet clean on the road, and does Chambliss look like a legit starter against one of the best defenses in the country? We’re watching for red-zone opportunities that don’t rely on QB keepers, plus which skill guys these QBs can lean on.

LSU Tigers

Garrett Nussmeier — QB #18 — 6'1", 205 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 94/137, 962 yards, 6 TDs, 2 INTs | 1 rush TD
Last Game (SE Louisiana): 25/31, 273 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INT | 5 carries, 10 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: NFL-caliber throws: on-schedule intermediate throws, anticipation into tighter windows, and turnover-free football.

Caden Durham — RB #29 — 5'9", 205 lbs (So) — if he plays
2025 Stats: 52 carries, 213 yards, 2 TDs | 8 receptions, 39 yards
Last Game (SE Louisiana): 7 carries, 17 yards | 3 receptions, 7 yards
What We’re Watching For: How he looks coming back from injury, plus passing-down and red-zone usage.

Aaron Anderson — WR #1 — 5'8", 188 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 21 receptions, 293 yards
Last Game (SE Louisiana): 3 receptions, 46 yards
What We’re Watching For: Consistent volume. Is he more than a small PPR threat in college? We think his tape will translate to the NFL, but can he be dynasty relevant?

Barion Brown — WR #6 — 5'11", 185 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 20 receptions, 199 yards, 1 TD | 2 carries, 24 yards
Last Game (SE Louisiana): 5 receptions, 54 yards, 1 TD | 1 carry, 9 yards
What We’re Watching For: Perimeter WR ability—can he command intermediate targets and add red-zone involvement?

Ole Miss Rebels

Trinidad Chambliss — QB #6 — 6'1", 200 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 42/62, 719 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INT | 36 carries, 195 yards, 2 TD
Last Game (Tulane): 17/27, 307 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INT | 14 carries, 112 yards
What We’re Watching For: Is he a capable starter? After starting as the backup to open the season, he came in for an injured Austin Simmons and has taken over as the starter. This is his first real test against a top defense. If he looks good against LSU, he may start to garner some NFL attention.

Kewan Lacy — RB #5 — 5'11", 200 lbs (So)
2025 Stats: 79 carries, 358 yards, 7 TDs | 8 receptions, 47 yards
Last Game (Tulane): 18 carries, 68 yards, 2 TDs | 3 receptions, 3 yards
What We’re Watching For: Every-down profile on a ranked stage. Short-yardage + red-zone usage is already there; how does he look in the passing game?

Harrison Wallace III — WR #2 — 6'1", 195 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 16 receptions, 343 yards, 2 TDs
Last Game (Tulane): 1 reception, 4 yards
What We’re Watching For: Bounce-back week against a top defense. Can he and Chambliss create a connection Ole Miss can rely on moving forward?

Saturday Night

#6 Oregon @ #3 Penn State — 6:30 p.m. CT (NBC)

Blue-chip QB eval in a top-10 matchup—can Dante Moore keep the explosives while staying turnover-light, and does Allar’s timing/anticipation hold up vs speed? We’re watching for third-down poise, red-zone execution, and which skill guys can make plays on a big stage against a top-tier defense.

Oregon Ducks

Dante Moore — QB #5 — 6'3", 206 lbs (So)
2025 Stats: 71/95, 962 yards, 11 TDs, 1 INT | 14 carries, 87 yards
Last Game (Oregon State): 21/31, 305 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INT | 7 carries, 53 yards
What We’re Watching For: Continue to do what he’s been doing, but against a playoff-caliber team. If he can do that, he’ll remain firmly in the conversation as one of the top QBs in the 2027 or 2028 draft.

Dakorien Moore — WR #1 — 5'11", 195 lbs (Fr)
2025 Stats: 12 receptions, 207 yards, 2 TDs | 3 carries, 42 yards, 1 TD
Last Game (Oregon State): 3 receptions, 63 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: WR1 trajectory vs elite corners. Can he be more than a vertical speed threat?

Kanyon Sadiq — TE #18 — 6'3", 245 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 9 receptions, 155 yards, 3 TDs
Last Game (Oregon State): 4 receptions, 60 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: Red-zone and PA usage. If he’s a first read on crossers/leaks and shows up on 3rd-and-short, that’s plug-and-play fantasy utility at TE.

Penn State Nittany Lions

Drew Allar — QB #15 — 6'5", 235 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 57/88, 626 yards, 4 TDs, 1 INT | 10 carries, 27 yards
Last Game (Villanova): 16/29, 209 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT | 2 carries, 18 yards
What We’re Watching For: Quality-opponent litmus test for a top QB in the 2026 class. Show anticipation into tighter windows, avoid turnover-worthy plays, and convert on 3rd downs.

Nicholas Singleton — RB #10 — 6'0", 224 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 41 carries, 179 yards, 5 TDs | 5 receptions, 44 yards
Last Game (Villanova): 20 carries, 84 yards, 2 TDs | 1 reception, 7 yards
What We’re Watching For: We know he is splitting the backfield with Allen, but can we see traits of every-down usage vs a top-10 team, or will he continue to be overshadowed by Allen?

Kaytron Allen — RB #13 — 5'11", 217 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 34 carries, 273 yards, 3 TDs
Last Game (Villanova): 10 carries, 86 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: Does he continue to look like the more explosive/efficient back, or does he take a backseat to Singleton against a top opponent?

Luke Reynolds — TE #85 — 6'4", 250 lbs (So)
2025 Stats: 13 receptions, 142 yards
Last Game (Villanova): 4 receptions, 73 yards
What We’re Watching For: Is he the next in a long line of NFL-caliber TEs to come out of Penn State? Can he be a chain-mover with red-zone upside?

Saturday After Dark

#25 BYU @ Colorado - 9:15 P.M CT (ESPN)

It’s the Big12 After Dark! BYU’s freshman QB has dual-threat upside vs another QB runner for Colorado. We’re hoping to see big plays, limited turnovers, two-minute command, and which skill guys step up and make plays.

BYU Cougars

Bear Bachmeier — QB #47 — 6'2", 220 lbs (Fr)
2025 Stats: 42/62, 518 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT | 22 carries, 65 yards, 4 TD
Last Game (East Carolina): 18/25, 246 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT | 5 carries, 26 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: Turnover-free dual-threat profile scaling up. Hit rhythm throws, keep designed runs as a complement, and excel in the two-minute drill. If he lands a couple of chunk plays through the air and keeps the sheet clean again, he moves from intriguing freshman to a dynasty target in a few years.

LJ Martin — RB #4 — 6'2", 220 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 40 carries, 342 yards, 1 TD | 2 receptions, 20 yards
Last Game (East Carolina): 14 carries, 101 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: Workhorse indicators: passing-down trust, short-yardage preference, and red-zone touches. Will his tape translate to the NFL?

Carsen Ryan — TE #20 — 6'4", 250 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 9 receptions, 146 yards, 2 TD
Last Game (East Carolina): 4 receptions, 63 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: What does his usage look like? If he continues to rack up a handful of catches a game and a few more TDs as the season goes on, he could sneak into a deep sleeper conversation in the 2026 draft.

Colorado Buffaloes

Kaidon Slater — QB #3 — 6'1", 190 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 42/72, 565 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT | 32 carries, 153 yards, 3 TD
Last Game (Wyoming): 18/28, 304 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT | 11 carries, 86 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: After losing the starting gig, then getting it back, can he keep it? How does he look against a ranked opponent after beating up on Wyoming last week? I want to see if he can keep the hot hand without turnovers.
