Campus Scouting Guide - Week 4 2025

Our Perfect Weekend Slate

If you’re watching college football this weekend, you might as well do it with a dynasty/draft lens, so consider this your remote‑control blueprint. The four anchors below are the games we’d watch start‑to‑finish to get the truest read on NFL‑transferable traits; the alternates are your Multiview companions—flip audio on 3rd‑and‑medium, red‑zone trips, and when a top prospect is featured.

Friday:

  • 7:00 p.m. CT – Iowa @ Rutgers (FOX) - Rutgers’ offense gets a truth‑serum test vs a top‑tier defense. We want to see if the Knights can create efficient first downs without gimmicks and if Kaliakmanis maintains clean feet when Iowa squeezes windows.

Saturday:

  • 11:00 a.m. CT – #17 Texas Tech @ #16 Utah (FOX) – Morton’s verticals vs Dampier’s dual-threat pacing; explosives vs the sack/turnover tax. We’re tracking 3rd-and-medium answers, deep-shot efficiency, and whether either QB stays on schedule when the top is capped.

2:30 p.m. CT – #22 Auburn @ #11 Oklahoma (ABC) – Arnold needs to look like an NFL passer, not just a runner; Mateer needs a clean sheet with sharper pre/post-snap reads. Watch early-down first-read throws, red-zone solutions beyond QB power, and who stacks chunk plays without giving them back.

6:30 p.m. CT – #9 Illinois @ #19 Indiana (NBC/Peacock) – Altmyer vs Mendoza is a timing/accuracy exam with WR target gravity in play. We’re grading third-down conversion, low-red-zone poise, and whether Omar Cooper Jr maintains WR1 volume against ranked-level athletes.

9:30 p.m. CT – Michigan State @ #25 USC (FOX) – Chiles vs Maiava with vertical threats on both sidelines; shots + ball security decide it. Track two-minute operation, 3rd-down throws from the pocket, and whether Lemon/Lane (USC) or Marsh (MSU) force safety help.

Other Games This Weekend To Consider:

Early:

  • SMU @ TCU (11:00 a.m. CT - ESPN2)Iron Skillet. Hoover’s distribution vs SMU’s tempo; Jennings/Harden bring pro traits at pace. If Hoover prevents the cheap turnover and SMU tackles in space, this turns into a QB showcase rather than a track meet.

Afternoon:

  • #21 Michigan @ Nebraska (2:30 p.m. CT - CBS/Paramount+)Underwood vs Raiola; crowd/noise stress tests. We’re tracking protection ID, cadence management, and who throws the best dig/seam into tight windows.

  • NC State @ Duke (3:00 p.m. CT - ESPN2)Bailey/Smothers/Joly vs Mensah; explosives vs coverage integrity. Duke’s ability to cap verticals decides whether Bailey can live in the intermediate middle.

Evening:

  • South Carolina @ #23 Missouri (6:00 p.m. CT - ESPN)Sellers/Harbor vs a disciplined Tigers unit; Norfleet’s red‑zone usage. If Sellers avoids hero‑ball sacks, USC can stay on schedule and let Harbor stress leverage.

  • Florida @ #4 Miami (6:30 p.m. CT - ABC)Blue‑chip QB/skill on both sidelines; speed everywhere. Track WR rotation and how Miami defends Lagway’s keeper game.

  • Arizona State @ Baylor (6:30 p.m. CT - FOX)Leavitt vs Robertson; Trigg’s seam role vs quarters. If Baylor consistently hits Trigg on crossers, the Bears keep leverage on early downs.

Friday Night

Iowa @ Rutgers — 7:00 p.m. CT (FOX)

This is a truth serum for Rutgers’ early efficiency. We want bankable dynasty traits: Kaliakmanis taking layups and protecting the ball, Raymond earning passing-down trust, and Duff/Strong commanding money-down looks. If they move the chains and finish drives without turnovers, the production is real.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Athan Kaliakmanis — QB #16 — 6'3", 212 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 62/85, 820 yards, 7 TD, 0 INT
Last Game (Norfolk): 18/26, 309 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: Dynasty translation of starter traits: take the layups, protect the ball, and move the sticks. We want to see quick, decisive throws on first down, sack avoidance when the pocket squeezes, and steady command of the 2‑minute drill. If he converts third‑and‑medium by hitting outlets and keeps turnover‑worthy plays near zero, his profile trends toward “NFL backup with spot‑starter upside” rather than “college‑only producer.”

Antwan Raymond — RB #3 — 5'11", 205 lbs (So)
2025 Stats: 43 carries, 248 yards, 5 TD | 3 receptions, 30 yards
Last Game (Norfolk): 16 carries, 79 yards, 2 TD | 1 catch, 17 yards
What We’re Watching For: A clear three‑down path. Does he earn passing‑down snaps (trust in protection, clean hands on checkdowns/screens) and short‑yardage work? Contact balance and bounce‑back after first hit matter more than raw speed here. A 60–70% snap share in a close game—plus any 2‑minute or red‑zone preference—are the tells that his role can to the NFL

Ian Strong — WR #9 — 6'3", 211 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 16 receptions, 216 yards, 2 TD
Last Game (Miami OH): 9 receptions, 116 yards, 2 TD
What We’re Watching For: Outside‑WR viability that holds target share. Can he separate early on curls/outs, show strong hands through contact, and become a third‑down go‑to? One or two clean vertical stacks plus timing on comebacks would shift him from “contested‑catch specialist” to a more bankable dynasty profile.

KJ Duff — WR #8 — 6'6", 225 lbs (So)
2025 Stats: 17 receptions, 244 yards, 2 TD
Last Game (Norfolk): 6 receptions, 119 yards
What We’re Watching For: Red‑zone weapon vs every‑down target. Touchdown shots will come at his size; the dynasty swing factor is usage between the 20s—stick routes on 3rd‑and‑short, play‑action crossers, and enough blocking effort to stay on the field in 12 personnel. If he earns 6–8 designed looks and a couple of money‑down targets, he moves out of TD‑or‑bust territory.

Saturday Early

#17 Texas Tech @ #16 Utah — 11:00 a.m. CT (FOX)

Clean A/B test of two QB archetypes: Morton’s volume passer profile vs Dampier’s dual-threat résumé. We’re looking for explosives without the sack/turnover tax and on-schedule answers when shots are capped. The QB who marries 1–2 deep hits with steady 3rd-down decisions looks like a future weekly starter.

Texas Tech Red Raiders

Behren Morton — QB #2 — 6'2", 220 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 57/81, 923 yards, 11 TD, 1 INT
Last Game (Oregon State): 23/35, 464 yards, 4 TD, 1 INT
What We’re Watching For: Starter-track signals: take the layups when capped deep, avoid drive-killing sacks, and keep turnover-worthy plays low while still landing 1–2 explosives. Another efficient, low-mistake outing pushes him toward “future NFL starter with upside” instead of a college hopeful.

Coy Eakin — WR #3 — 6'2", 210 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 12 receptions, 245 yards, 3 TD
Last Game (Oregon State): 5 receptions, 123 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: Outside-WR viability that sustains weekly targets: early-down curls/outs for easy volume plus at least one downfield stack finished through contact. Hands consistency and timing on comebacks are the needle-movers for dynasty.

Terrance Carter Jr — TE #7 — 6'2", 245 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 10 receptions, 194 yards, 3 TD
Last Game (Oregon State): 6 receptions, 102 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: Red-zone and seam usage that screams fantasy utility—schemed PA crossers, third-down leaks, and stick-route trust. If he commands 5–7 looks with a money-down target or two, that’s a real arrow up.

Other Red Raiders to Watch:

  • RB Cameron Dickey (So #8) & RB J’Koby Williams (So #20)Are either of these dynasty-worthy players down the road?

Utah Utes

Devon Dampier — QB #4 — 5'11", 204 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 65/89, 628 yards, 7 TD, 0 INT | 33 rushes, 198 yards, 1 TD
Last Game (Wyoming): 27/41, 230 yards, 2 TD | 13 rushes, 86 yards
What We’re Watching For: Passing growth to pair with the legs: hit rhythmic field-side throws, make simple high-low reads, scramble to extend—not erase—drives. If he avoids negative plays and mixes in designed keepers, the “dual-threat starter” path is alive.

Dallen Bentley — TE #88 — 6'4", 264 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 11 receptions, 112 yards, 2 TD
Last Game (Wyoming): 4 receptions, 46 yards
What We’re Watching For: Red-zone and PA reliability. Crossers behind LB depth and third-down stick usage = plug-and-play fantasy role, even if raw yardage is modest.

Other Utes To Watch:

  • RB Wayshawn Parker (So #1) & RB NaQuari Rogers (Sr #21) — Can either of these be the lead back and translate their game to the NFL?

  • WR Ryan Davis (Sr #9) — chain-mover who sustains drives.

Saturday Afternoon

#22 Auburn @ #11 Oklahoma — 2:30 p.m. CT (ABC)

Maturity check for two tempo offenses with dual-threat QBs. We want first-read throws on early downs, smart choices on 3rd-and-medium, and red-zone solutions beyond QB power. The side that stacks explosives while keeping negatives down produces the clearer dynasty starter track.

Auburn Tigers

Jackson Arnold — QB #11 — 6'1", 219 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 48/69, 501 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT | 35 rush, 192 yards, 4 TD
Last Game (South Alabama): 13/24, 142 yards, 1 TD | 10 rush, 50 yards, 2 TD
What We’re Watching For: Can the arm catch up to the legs? Show NFL‑passer traits: on‑schedule throws from the pocket, anticipatory middle‑field work (digs, seams, glance), and accuracy into tight windows on 3rd‑and‑medium. Limit panic scrambles, take the checkdown when the shot is capped, and win in the low red zone with your arm. A night with multiple 10–20 air‑yard completions, clean protection IDs, and near‑zero turnover‑worthy plays is the green flag.

Jeremiah Cobb — RB #23 — 5'11", 200 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 46 carries, 314 yards, 4 TD
Last Game (South Alabama): 19 carries, 119 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: Is there a three‑down path? Can he earn passing‑down trust (protection + screens), show short‑yardage reliability, and what is his two‑minute usage? A 60–70% snap share in a close game with red‑zone preference is the dynasty green light.

Cam Coleman — WR #8 — 6'3", 201 lbs (So)
2025 Stats: 10 receptions, 149 yards, 1 TD
Last Game (South Alabama): 2 receptions, 49 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: A true breakout vs a top opponent. We want WR1 signals against ranked‑caliber DBs: command 7–9 targets, win a high‑leverage third down, and hit at least one explosive play. Add a manufactured touches that turns into YAC and force safety help or bracket. If he stacks those checkpoints without concentration drops, that’s real WR1 trajectory for dynasty, not just highlight‑reel potential.

Eric Singleton Jr — WR #1 — 5'10", 180 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 13 receptions, 149 yards, 2 TD | 5 rush, 25 yards
Last Game (South Alabama): 6 receptions, 65 yards | motion touches
What We’re Watching For: From schemed speed to every‑down value. We want reliable hands on quick game, usage on money downs, and a shot play or two set up by jet/orbit. If he earns 6–8 targets with third‑down involvement, the profile deepens.

Oklahoma Sooners

John Mateer — QB #10 — 6'1", 224 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 71/105, 944 yards, 5 TD, 3 INT | 33 rush, 161 yards, 4 TD
Last Game (Temple): 20/34, 282 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT | 7 rush, 63 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: Turnover‑free football paired with real pre‑ and post‑snap command. Pre‑snap: clean protection IDs, identify trap/rotation, get to the right side of the concept. Post‑snap: confirm the picture, hit the first read on time, take the checkdown when the shell bails, and treat keepers as freebies—not bailouts.

Deion Burks — WR #4 — 5'9", 188 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 17 receptions, 225 yards, 2 TD
Last Game (Temple): 3 receptions, 36 yards
What We’re Watching For: Chain‑mover with pop. Consistent separation on choice/pivot and usage in the low red zone. If he’s the go‑to on third down and gets a schemed shot, that’s sustainable fantasy utility.

Jaren Kanak — TE #12 — 6'2", 233 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 14 receptions, 245 yards
Last Game (Temple): 4 receptions, 86 yards
What We’re Watching For: Role clarity. H‑back motion, leaks, and stick routes on third down = bankable floor. We want to see contact balance after the catch and design intent near the goal line.

Other Sooners to Watch:

  • RB Tory Blaylock (Fr #6) — freshman high‑leverage usage (two‑minute, red zone) would be a strong future signal.

Saturday Evening

#9 Illinois @ #19 Indiana — 6:30 p.m. CT (NBC/Peacock)

Ranked Big Ten test that spotlights intermediate efficiency and WR target gravity. We’re grading Altmyer and Mendoza on timing throws, third-down conversion, and low-red-zone poise. If one passing game stays clean while creating a few chunk plays, those QB/WR pieces earn real dynasty elevation.

Illinois Fighting Illini

Luke Altmyer — QB #9 — 6'2", 205 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 56/78, 709 yards, 8 TD, 0 INT | 1 rush TD
Last Game (Western Michigan): 17/26, 196 yards, 2 TD; rush TD
Why We’re Watching: Can he look like a steady fantasy starter against a ranked opponent—on-time intermediate throws, clean decision-making, and two-minute command. If he keeps the sheet clean and converts 3rd-and-medium with his arm (not scramble bailouts), he moves from superflex depth toward weekly streamer territory.

Kaden Feagin — RB #3 — 6'3", 250 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 50 Carries, 222 Yards, 3 TDs | 2 rec, 13 yards
Last Game (Western Michigan): 20 Carries, 100 Yards, 1TD | 2 Catches for 13 Yards
Why We’re Watching: Three-down viability vs good athletes. We need passing-down trust (protection + hands), short-yardage reliability, and a healthy snap share in a tight game. If he’s more than an early-down hammer—i.e., gets 2-minute or red-zone preference—his dynasty floor climbs.

Hank Beatty — WR #80 — 5'11", 185 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 19 Catches, 289 Yards, 1 TD | 1 Carry, 25 Yards, 1 TD
Last Week: 6 Catches, 53 Yards, 1 TD
Why We’re Watching: Target earner, not just a gadget. Look for 7–9 targets, third-down trust, and at least one designed touch that turns into YAC. If he’s the motion/slot unlock on money downs and adds low-red-zone usage, he profiles as a usable PPR piece.

Indiana Hoosiers

Fernando Mendoza — QB #15 — 6'5", 225 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 55/76, 708 yards, 9 TD, 0 INT | 15 rush, 72 yards, 2 TD
Last Week (Indiana State): 19/20, 270 yards, 5 TD; rush TD
Why We’re Watching: Quality-opponent litmus test. The blow-up vs Indiana State only matters if it carries here—on-time throws into tighter windows, no panic under pressure, and 3rd-and-medium conversions with his arm. A clean sheet plus competent two-minute work = real dynasty bump.

Omar Cooper Jr — WR #3 — 6'0", 201 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 13 receptions, 299 yards, 4 TD | 1 carry, 75 yards, 1 TD
Last Week (Indiana State): 10 receptions, 207 yards, 4 TD
Why We’re Watching: True WR1 behavior vs a ranked defense: target command, a money-down win, and at least one explosive through contact. If he draws safety help/bracket and still produces, he goes from hot start to must-stash.

Elijah Sarratt — WR #13 — 6'2", 209 lbs (Sr)
2025 Stats: 15 receptions, 164 yards, 3 TD
Last Week (Indiana State): 3 receptions, 23 yards
Why We’re Watching: Floor-raising chain mover with red-zone utility. We want third-down slant/dig wins and trustworthy hands in traffic. If he shows separation vs press and keeps the TD role, he’s a viable depth add in deeper dynasty formats.

Saturday After Dark

Michigan State @ #25 USC — 10:00 p.m. CT (FOX)

After-dark showcase with NFL-watchlist QBs and vertical speed. We’re looking for sustainable explosives (posts/overs) without giving them back via sacks or turnovers, plus two-minute command. The QB who hits shots and keeps the operation on schedule plants a weekly-starter flag.

Michigan State Spartans

Aidan Chiles — QB #2 — 6'3", 225 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 58/81, 656 yards, 6 TD, 1 INT | 30 carries, 123 yards, 1 TD
Last Game (Youngstown State): 22/29, 270 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT | 8 carries, 76 yards
What We’re Watching For: Can he stack starter traits in a hostile spot? On-time throws from the pocket, take the easy completions when shots aren’t there, and keep the turnover sheet clean. If he converts 3rd-and-medium with his arm and runs to extend (not rescue) drives, he nudges toward weekly-streamer viability in dynasty.

Nick Marsh — WR #6 — 6'3", 203 lbs (So)
2025 Stats: 16 receptions, 194 yards, 3 TD
Last Game (Youngstown State): 6 receptions, 94 yards
What We’re Watching For: WR2 trajectory with target stability. We want a money-down win, one explosive through contact, and signs he can earn 7–9 looks when the game script turns tough. If he forces safety attention or still produces vs tighter coverage, he moves from upside stash to priority hold.

Other Spartans to Watch:

  • Makhi Frazier — RB #5 (So): Passing-down/2-minute snaps plus any inside-the-5 carry = stash-worthy arrow up.

  • Brandon Tullis — RB #7 (So): Short-yardage hammer with sneaky screen juice—watch for goal-line series and any targets.

  • Michael Masunas — TE #81 (Jr): If he runs routes on 3rd down or gets a designed red-zone leak, he’s on the deep-league radar.

USC Trojans

Jayden Maiava — QB #14 — 6'4", 230 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 48/70, 989 yards, 6 TD, 0 INT | 11 carries, 24 yards, 2 TD
Last Game (Purdue): 17/28, 282 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT | 7 carries, 10 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: Weekly-starter blueprint: land a couple of deep shots and keep negatives down. Show pre/post-snap command (take what’s there, don’t force hero balls), steady two-minute operation, and protect the football. Another clean sheet with chunk gains is a strong dynasty signal.

Waymond Jordan — RB #2 — 5'9", 210 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 39 carries, 286 yards, 3 TD | 2 receptions, 12 yards
Last Game (Purdue): 18 carries, 77 yards, 1 TD
What We’re Watching For: Three-down path vs committee ceiling. We need to see passing-down trust (protection + a couple of targets) and red-zone preference. If he adds 2–3 catches to the 15–20 carry role, his weekly floor jumps in dynasty.

Makai Lemon — WR #6 — 5'11", 195 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 16 receptions, 311 yards, 2 TD
Last Game (Purdue): 5 receptions, 63 yards
What We’re Watching For: Target earner with big-play juice. Look for 8+ targets, a money-down conversion, and one explosive where he wins with pacing/YAC not just scheme. If he’s the first read on key downs, he profiles as a steady PPR starter long-term.

Ja’Kobi Lane — WR #8 — 6'4", 200 lbs (Jr)
2025 Stats: 9 receptions, 238 yards, 1 TD
Last Game (Purdue): 3 receptions, 115 yards
What We’re Watching For: Field-stretcher turning into weekly value. We want a 20+ air-yard hit and red-zone involvement. If the usage isn’t just “one shot a game” and he earns 6–8 looks, he becomes more than a spike-week stash.

Other Trojans to Watch:

  • Eli Sanders — RB #1 — 5'10", 200 lbs (Sr) — ~7.0 YPC in 2025; watch for scripted series and two-minute work (could poach high-value touches).

  • Lake McRee — TE #87 — 6'4", 250 lbs (Sr) — TE routes/goal-line leaks; any designed look on 3rd down or inside the 10 is a direct dynasty green flag.
